Guided heritage tour service has been started for tourists in Delhi on the lines of foreign countries. During the excursion, tourists will also be able to taste the famous cuisine of Delhi-6. Municipal Corporation of Delhi has started Guided Heritage Tour in association with Yulu Bikes Company.
In the first phase, a tour of the historical heritage sites of Shahjahanabad would be taken. MCD has planned to conduct about six more such guided heritage tours across Delhi. In this, historical heritage sites located in South Delhi will be visited.
The Corporation has permitted Yulu Bikes to conduct guided tours at the public bike stand under the Public Cycle Sharing and Shared Micro Mobility System policy. The journey to the historic gate of Shahjahanabad was inaugurated on Sunday. Corporation’s Additional Commissioner AA Tajir flagged off the Virasat Yatra. RK Mishra, Founder, Yulu E-Bike, Naveen Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner, Keshav Puram Zone and Amit Bhardwaj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, RP SAIL were present on the occasion.
New initiative ahead of G-20 summit
Additional Commissioner Amit Bhardwaj said that keeping in mind the G-20 summit, a guided heritage tour has been started in Delhi. This type of service has been going on abroad for a long time. He told that a fee of Rs 700 has been fixed for this. In this, tourists will get breakfast before the start of the tour. This heritage tour will start from Kashmere Gate and pass through all the 7 gates of Shahjahanabad and end at Delhi Gate in about three hours.
